Family mourns St. Paul man at intersection where he was killed Friends and family of Steve Wirtz, a St. Paul man who was struck and killed while crossing a street darkened by copper wire theft, held a candlelight vigil for him Saturday evening at the intersection where he died.Wirtz and his dog, Gunther, were killed shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday — Christmas Eve — while they were out for a quick walk in their neighborhood.The 45-year-old driver who hit Wirtz and Gunther cooperated with authorities at the scene. Two killed, four wounded in three Denver shootings Two people died and four people were injured overnight Friday into Saturday in three Denver shootings.All three incidents were reported within a couple of hours of each other early Saturday .The first happened in the 4800 block of West Colfax Avenue, Denver police reported about 1:55 a.m. on X.Police later reported two men died in this shooting and two other men were injured but expected to survive. County patient located A Los Angeles County hospital located the family of a patient who had been hospitalized for more than 10 days and speaks an unknown language.The patient had been at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood after he was found Dec. 17 on the 7600 block of Otis Avenue in Cudahy."I appreciate your sharing the information for us," the hospital said on Dec. 29. "We are glad to have reunited our patient with his family."St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood is asking for the public's help to identify a hospitalized man who speaks an undetermined language. He was apparently unable to communicate his name or any other information that would assist hospital staff with identifying him.No further details surrounding his case or the discovery of his loved ones were released.
